Q: Are you a freelancer?

A: I am more than just a freelancer. I bring more than just design to the table. I work with a great team of web developers, video producers, photographers and marketing strategists.

Q: If I’m your client, what is your goal for me?

A: My goal is to turn your dreams and ideas that might just be written on a cocktail napkin to a full blown reality - visually, professionally and strategically.

Q: What kind of creative do you do?

A: I offer it all. Take your pick from video, production, radio, print, brand identity, logos, brochures, outdoor boards, photo retouching, photography, web design, apparel, book layout, annual reports... basically anything printable. I start with blank paper.

Q: Where are you located?

A: I am located in Reno, Nevada. Just about everything you have heard about Reno is true. It is the biggest little city in the world and we do have cops in shorts riding Segways. But to be honest with you, location doesn’t matter. I have clients from all over the planet, we all work well together.

Q: Why hire an individual vs. and agency?

A: Oh that’s an easy one. I work directly with the client. There is no Account Executive, no middle man. If my client needs something done, they contact me directly. I won’t even mention my competitive bidding (even though I just did).

Q: Speaking of which, what would you charge for a logo?

A: You know, I’ve never met a client who was happy with a $99 logo. Have you? No? Well. I’d suggest that the right way to start this conversation is with a conversation. Tell me who you are, what you do, who your customers are, what they like, and a dozen other really good questions. Then, I’ll develop a creative brief that will capture all of this insight that we’ll both agree on. Once this is all in hand, I go to work. I don’t do shortcuts. Logos are serious business. Are you serious about your logo? That was a question.

Q: Do you work as an outside contractor for agencies?

A: I sure do!

Q: Do you work in your pajamas?

A: Yes. Daily. They are very professional pajamas.

A: No, I do not wear a snuggie.

Q: How did you pick design as a career field?

A: Well, I exhausted my art classes in high school and the only one left was a 2 year vocational program in design, so I took it! I remember designing some stationary for my friend’s band. I know… why would a band need stationary, right? Well, they didn’t. Anyway, I have been lucky enough to find my passion early on in life, and have stuck with it ever since.

Q:Coffee or Tea?

A: Tea

Q: When a client comes to you with an idea, what steps do you take on to get them what they need?

A: First, I like to interview them. Find out more about their personality, which will lead me to inspiration. Creative is a child of discipline. We will go through a process together and clearly define what they want and what they don’t want. By the end of the “interview” I have a clear picture on what they are looking for, and better yet, what they expect from me. At the end of the day or project, I just want to hear the words “LOVE IT! DONE!” Even if it takes months to get there.

Q: So how does someone go about contacting you for questions and work?

A: The best way to contact me is by emailing me at Janice@three6zerostudio.com. Or Skype me anytime at three6zerostudio.

Q: Will you excuse me?

A: Yes.
